A good vacation for me is to go to warm weather in a camp site at luxurious nest with the experience of wild life. What is the first place comes to your mind?

For me, It’s Leopard Nest at Yala.

After the restless week I packed my luggage to go to most waited vacation. I reached the camp site within 4 hours via Southern Expressway from Colombo. This is located in very close to Yala National Park.

Yala (යාල) National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as, Ruhuna National Park (Block 1), and Kumana National Park or 'Yala East' for the adjoining area. It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park is located about 300 kilometers (190 mi) from Colombo. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds.

Leopard nest is a unique campsite that returns the true essence of an ultimate clamping experience with elegance, romance and adventure while minimizing the environmental footprints.  We had a heartiest welcome with Sri Lankan warm Hospitality.
We’ve stayed at the luxurious Tree Nest. It built on the “Palu” tree (Manilkara Hexandra). The tree nest is totally supported by the tree.

We had a perfect candlelight barbecue dinner with the campfire at under the trees, Slight breeze made us feel better perfect. This was remarkable dinner and best spot to have a hearty breakfast too. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation. Fresh food with full of mouthwatering dishes.

Amazing Experience of Hot Air Balloons in Dambulla with Srilanka Balloon

When I think of life experience, Make a dream is a very influential phase of my life.

My very first hot air balloon ride was also like this it was spectacular, I can’t tell you how amazing and it was a magical experience. A big thanks to the Sri Lanka Ballooning Company especially Samy Chief Pilot of Srilanka Balloon for being so friendly.

If you live or visit in Sri Lanka,
You should check them out!
Because they have so many success stories to share with you.

Early in the morning the balloon pilots assessed the wind speed. Balloon flights can be a little fickle. That is, you can schedule something and then it might be canceled due to poor wind conditions.
Fortunately, the wind was very calm on Sunday morning, and we were able to embark on our journey. Our Chief Pilot was Samy, a wonderful Turkish pilot with high qualified and owned the Turkish Air Balloon company as well.
The Core Pilot and his professional crew prepared the balloon and watched with anticipation we departed shortly before 05:00 AM

I’m smiling here, but really I’m sort of … freaking out. I’m afraid of heights, for one. And then I kept thinking about all these silly things: What if my camera falls? What if I faint? What if I … fall out of the basket But I thought,
Yes, I can do this. Our balloon was up..
And then it was time to climb in! At first I was calm… And then, not so much…
Here’s a shot my husband took of our balloon sailing up into the air so gorgeous!
The views below were amazing!
I kept thinking about how different the world looks from the perspective.
It’s beyond Gorgeous.
Sunrise in the air above this breathtaking scenery is hardly to describe!
There was fully of fabulous views of mountains (Specially Sigiriya and Pidurangala) I just can suggest that you go on your own ride to make this stunning experience.
We got really close to the Kandalama Lake to he got us close enough that I could see the pebbles in the water.
Our Chief Pilot Samy talked with fisher men in Sinhala (Ayubowan) asking about the prices of the fish it was one of the favorite parts of my journey.
I was very jittery about the landing, but it ended up being as smooth as silk.
We made it!
We got the champagne after landing.. Then I asked why we celebrate the landing..                               Samy's answer is It’s customary when you land to toast a hot air balloon flight with a glass of champagne. This is a long tradition, and history as this.
"The first hot air balloon flights were started in the 1780s in France. The passengers were the French aristocracy, who were not very popular with the poor – especially the farmers, who did not like the balloons landing on their fields. They would often attack a balloon with pitchforks.
The aristocracy could not conceive that the farmers found them unpopular. They thought that the farmers were afraid of the balloons, thinking that, with their burners, they believed they were some kind of strange fire-breathing dragon.
The passengers carried champagne to drink in the flight but decided that they could give the farmers a bottle as a gesture of goodwill. This would show them that, far from being a part of a fierce dragon, they were simply friendly aristocrats.
It’s unlikely relationships between aristocrats and farmers were repaired there and then, but the champagne was gratefully received and was seen as a suitable payment for landing rights."

The tradition of drinking champagne after a hot air balloon flight is still alive today and certificates as a back to the ground and welcome.
This was amazing adventure I will never forget my ride in the hot air balloon.
You can give magical surprise for your loved ones as a gift for their special moment.
If you do, here’s my advice,

Work with a company with experienced and perfect safety record, like The Sri Lanka Ballooning

Be flexible. Because of wind conditions that are constantly changing, you may have to try two or three different days before finally getting up. 🎈

Don’t give up! It’s so worth it.

Climb Parrot Rock, Mirissa

Mirissa is a great place to spend the day and relax. There are plenty of restaurants along the beach to have a meal or a drink and hang out. all over. It is a clean strip of white sand with clear turquoise waters with a few good beach shacks on the other side.

Mirissa Beach from the top of Parrot Rock
Mirissa Beach is close to the most Southern tip of Sri Lanka and in fact the Indian sub-continent as well. In the morning time you are greeted by gentle colorful sunrises and then the sun crosses directly overhead throughout the day finally ending up give you a breathtaking and memorable sunset.

So, here i'm going to talk about Parrot Rock.
Once you get to the top, there is this epic view of the perfection that is Mirissa's beach.

It's the best place to sit and enjoy the sunset or the view of the Indian ocean.

Path to Parrot Rock, Mirissa
Climbing Parrot Rock is one of my favorite things to do in Mirissa. Another one of the top things to do in Mirissa Sri Lanka is to climb to the top of Parrot Rock.

Top of Parrot Rock, Mirissa
Now when I say climb I’m probably over exaggerating. Parrot Rock is the little mound you can see overlooking Mirissa Beach.

The best time is sunset hours. Go for parrot rock to see a sunset. it will be much romantic with less crowd

It’s a really nice thing to either do around sunrise or sunset to watch the activity starting or wrapping up on the beach.

Sit back, relax, forget all about your trouble and woes and truly take in this magical place. Listen to the sounds of the Indian Ocean and the waves breaking on the beach..

Please be careful. On the way up & down to Parrot Rock, Mirissa
Finally, It can be a bit of a sketchy climb up so please be careful. On the way up & down.
we walked through knee high water but this will all depend on the tide when you visit. Best not to get in the water during the off season as the currents can be pretty strong.
