» Climb Parrot Rock, Mirissa
Mirissa is a great place to spend the day and relax. There are plenty of restaurants along the beach to have a meal or a drink and hang out. all over. It is a clean strip of white sand with clear turquoise waters with a few good beach shacks on the other side.

Mirissa Beach is close to the most Southern tip of Sri Lanka and in fact the Indian sub-continent as well. In the morning time you are greeted by gentle colorful sunrises and then the sun crosses directly overhead throughout the day finally ending up give you a breathtaking and memorable sunset.
So, here i'm going to talk about Parrot Rock.
Once you get to the top, there is this epic view of the perfection that is Mirissa's beach.
It's the best place to sit and enjoy the sunset or the view of the Indian ocean.

Path to Parrot Rock, Mirissa |
Climbing Parrot Rock is one of my favorite things to do in Mirissa. Another one of the top things to do in Mirissa Sri Lanka is to climb to the top of Parrot Rock.

Now when I say climb I’m probably over exaggerating. Parrot Rock is the little mound you can see overlooking Mirissa Beach.
The best time is sunset hours. Go for parrot rock to see a sunset. it will be much romantic with less crowd
It’s a really nice thing to either do around sunrise or sunset to watch the activity starting or wrapping up on the beach.
Sit back, relax, forget all about your trouble and woes and truly take in this magical place. Listen to the sounds of the Indian Ocean and the waves breaking on the beach..

Please be careful. On the way up & down to Parrot Rock, Mirissa |
Finally, It can be a bit of a sketchy climb up so please be careful. On the way up & down.
we walked through knee high water but this will all depend on the tide when you visit. Best not to get in the water during the off season as the currents can be pretty strong.
